Where to Watch the Sunset in Kas, Turkey

The helicopter pad is a really cool and unique place to watch the sunset in Kas. The view from there is phenomenal, and the dark concrete landing area contrasts beautifully against the blue sea. People hang out there around sunset with a beer or a bottle of wine. There are a few sweet kitties there, too!

This is probably my favorite beach within walking distance of Kas. It’s only a 20-minute walk or a 250 TL taxi from the town center. From here you can watch the sun set over the water while you’re swimming! I recommend spending the day at this beach until sunset, as opposed to going there just for the sunset.

Limanağzı is a beautiful bay just west of Kas that has beach clubs. You can reach it by boat for 400 TL roundtrip. The 15-minute boat ride is my favorite thing about Limanağzı. It’s especially lovely to return to Kas at sunset, pulling into the picturesque harbor and past the lighthouse when the sky is all lit up.

Deja Vu is a laidback spot overlooking the sea and harbor that’s great for drinks at sunset. It’s one of Kas’ longest-standing bars, around for 25 years. The owner plays great indie music from the bar. The music is so good you’ll see people Shazaming in unison. It’s actually one of the most Shazamed spots in Turkey!

So many people go to Kas’ ancient amphitheater for sunset, so I was surprised when I went for the first time and couldn’t actually see the sun setting from there! Having said that, the sky above does, of course, change colors at sunset, and this is one of the most atmospheric places to be when it does. Buy a beer or bottle of wine from the store and come here to enjoy the free live music during the summer.
