Public Transport From Palermo Airport or City Center
Cheapest option, best for travel between 4 or 5 AM to 9:30 PM and for those with limited luggage
From the airport in Palermo, you take a Trenitalia train from there (Palermo Aeroporto) to the city center (Palermo Centrale). The train costs around 7 euros, takes 35 to 75 minutes, and runs at least hourly from about 5 AM until about midnight, depending on the day of the week. From Palermo Centrale, a 10-minute walk from the historic center, you take a separate Trenitalia train to Cefalu. Trains to Cefalu cost about 7 euros, run at least hourly from 4 AM until around 9:30 PM, and take 45 to 75 minutes. The train station in Cefalu is an easy and short walk to the town center. While this is the best way to get to Cefalu via public transport, the train (and also the bus, which costs about the same, is less picturesque, and has more limited departure times) doesn’t work for travel to Cefalu late at night or in the early morning hours.
Private Shuttle (Only Available From Palermo Airport)
Most convenient option from the airport, ideal for groups, extra luggage, and travel late at night

It’s also the best option for people traveling with more luggage than they can maneuver, larger groups of people where it becomes more cost-effective, or anyone traveling after hours when the trains are no longer running. Below are several private transfer options. The one titled “Transport from Palermo airport to Cefalu” is the cheapest for any number of travelers (1-8 people), while the one titled “Private Transfer from Palermo Airport to Your Hotel in Cefalu” is the only one available in the middle of the night.
